Is my lake covered?

Search for it on the "Find your lake" page. We cover Minnesota and Texas lakes with a published state depth survey, plus all five Great Lakes and Lake St. Clair from NOAA's published bathymetry. If yours isn't listed, tell us — we add coverage where survey data exists, but we won't promise a lake we can't draw.

How accurate is the map?

The shoreline and depth contours come straight from the publishing agency's bathymetry for that lake — the Minnesota DNR in Minnesota, the Texas Water Development Board in Texas, NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information on the Great Lakes. We don't smooth, invent, or model anything. The contours are thinned to a density a wall print can actually show — a Great Lake is surveyed at 90-metre spacing, which is finer than any printer resolves — but every line follows the published survey, and nothing is added to it. The survey year is printed on the art, and some are decades old.

The depths don't match what I remember about this lake

That can happen — Minnesota's lake surveys run from 1900 to 2007, Texas's reservoir surveys from the 1990s on, and NOAA's Great Lakes compilations are from 1996–1999, and we print the survey year right on your art so you know exactly which one you're getting. We draw the shoreline and contours exactly as the agency published them, rather than adjusting them to match current conditions or local knowledge. If the result isn't what you expected, email us — we'll refund it or reprint it with different wording, once, no argument.

Can I put my own words on it?

Yes — a title line replacing the lake name, and a second line replacing the county and coordinates. Both are optional and both appear in the preview before you pay.

What do I actually get?

A fine-art matte print, either rolled unframed or framed in black wood behind glass, in the size you chose. Framed prints arrive ready to hang.

Which size should I pick?

12 x 16 in suits a smaller wall or a gift that has to travel. The mid size — 16 x 24 in unframed, or 18 x 24 in framed — is the most-chosen: large enough that every contour reads clearly. 24 x 36 in unframed, or 24 x 32 in framed, is a statement piece.

How long will it take?

Your order is checked within about a day, then produced and shipped by our print lab. You get a tracking link when it ships. See "Printing & shipping" for the detail.

Can I cancel or return it?

Yes before it goes to production, and always if it arrives damaged or wrong. Because each print is personalized we can't take general change-of-mind returns after production — see "Returns, refunds & cancellations".

What if it arrives damaged, or the wrong lake or wording?

Email us a photo and your order number within 30 days of delivery. We'll reprint it or refund you in full — your choice — and you won't be asked to ship anything back. See "Returns, refunds & cancellations" for the full policy.

Can I use this for boating?

No. These are decorative prints, not navigation charts, and they say so on the art. Never use one to judge depth on the water.
